Nasser, President and CEO, Saudi Aramco, and Anders Opedal, President and CEO, Equinor. The 23rd WPC also welcomes two new Elite sponsors to their list of partners, CERAWeek and Petrobras. These are the latest additions to a growing list of participants at the prestigious 23rd WPC taking place in-person in Houston, USA from December 5-9, 2021.

Jeff Shellebarger, Chairman of the 23rd World Petroleum Congress Organizing Committee commented, “Our new plenary speakers and Elite sponsors are all great additions to an already-prestigious line-up, each one bringing valuable insights – whether from a personal or organizational perspective – into the innovative solutions that will shape the future of energy. Mr. Looney, who was appointed CEO of bp in February 2020 previously ran the company’s upstream business where he oversaw improvements in both process and personal safety performances and production and encouraged bp to lead on methane detection methods, as well as driving sustainable emissions reductions.

As President and CEO of Saudi Aramco, Mr. Nasser has been actively engaged in advancing the company’s innovation and technology strategy, including leading the company’s efforts to produce cleaner energy and products through investments in promoting technologies. Both he and Mr. Looney will share their insights and best practices surrounding innovation in the plenary session topic Innovative Energy Solutions.
